ILSE | Hamasho, Washed Local Landrace
from our friends at Ilse:
We Taste: limeade, yuzu, jasmine
Region: Bensa, Sidama
Varietal: Local Landrace
Altitude: 2300 masl
Harvest: January 2021
Hamasho, from Bensa, Sidama has been one our favorite Ethiopians of the season and we are really happy to share it. The coffee is grown at staggering elevations of 2300+ MASL which makes for very dense beans, which primarily are smaller screen sizes, so you will notice the beans are quite small. This coffee comes from our exporting parters Daye Bensa, who have a number of washing stations in the area, notably Shantawene, Keramo, and Bombe. We really love this coffee and get a range of flavors, but to us we strongly taste limeade and yuzu, with a beautiful florality of jasmine and bergamot. Its a full and lively coffee that we hope you all enjoy!
