Francy Burbano

Producer Profile

Francy was the only woman to place in the top 15 lots at the 2025 Copa de Oro Competition. Her farm, Finca Buenavista is located in the rural township of El Tabor in San Agustin, Huila at 1,800 masl. Despite the fact that she is well-known for her Pink Bourbons, which are highly-sought after by quality conscious buyers, this is the first year she has been a finalist in the competition.

Brewing Francy Burbano

Recommended Use:  FILTER

Where to Grind: Start at a medium setting within our recommended grind range*

*Refer to our Grind & Brew Guide for recipes and grind setting ranges tailored to specific grinders and brewers.

For best results we recommend resting your filter coffee for two to three weeks post-roast before brewing.

Huila

Of the many growing regions in Colombia, the mountainous department of Huila in the south west of the country grows the most coffee. Huila enjoys a wide diversity of micro-climates, temperatures, altitudes and coffee varieties. In fact, coffee is grown in 35 of Huila's 37 municipalities. All of this means that the coffee coming out of this region is as diverse as the variables that influence its production.

Pink Bourbon

This variety, famed for its characteristically pink ripened cherries and equally unique flavour characteristics, has become highly sought after. It has now been genetically confirmed that Pink Bourbon is in fact an Ethiopian Landrace variety. On our trips to Colombia, we've seen the variety proliferate across Colombia, particularly in Huila, where it has become extremely popular amongst specialty focused coffee producers.
